A Bit About Me
Hello and welcome! My name is Bernadette (she/her/hers) and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Western University and have gained experience working with individuals and couples facing a range of challenges including anger, anxiety, grief, self-image and life transitions. Although I work holistically with each client, the foundation of my approach tends to be rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy.
My approach to counselling is based on the belief that every person is the expert of their life and capable of growth and change. I believe we all hold a story that has shaped us into the person we are today and a hope for what our story might look like in the future.
As a counsellor, I aim to provide a compassionate and non-judgmental space where we can explore aspects of these stories and any internal or external barriers that may be keeping you stuck. Through this, we can work together to process and shift any unhelpful beliefs or patterns that have developed over time so you can feel better equipped moving forward.
It is my hope that I can meet you wherever you are in your journey and walk alongside you toward a path more aligned with where you would like to be.
