About Us

Our Story

Founded by Registered Psychologist, Dr. Veronica Li, and Registered Dietitian, Stephanie Dang in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Our Vision. To create safe spaces to empower and support people in their journeys toward better mental, physical, and social health. We envision a future where inclusive, supportive, equitable, and informed care are the standard in all health practices, and we want to be the first step in that journey.

Our Why. Women, racialized people, and individuals in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community experience an overall lower quality of healthcare, less access to services, and worse health outcomes than the general population.

Our Mission. CAYA Health Centre is a space that provides holistic care to people who have traditionally been underserved in health care; a place where people could feel safe and respected regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sex, presentation, or sexual orientation. Our mission is to provide high-quality, inclusive, and informed care for all women, trans, and non-binary individuals.

Our Values

We believe in creating a space where all individuals feel safe, heard, and cared for.

We believe in approaching our clients with respect, and acceptance. We prioritize safety across physical, emotional, and psychological domains.

We believe in providing services that are trauma-informed and sex-positive.

We believe that all individuals are experts in their own lives, and we need to honour their beliefs and experiences to understand their health.

We believe in using a strengths-based approach to empower others and encourage individuals to make the best choices for them.

We believe in filling existing service gaps by providing collaborative and well-rounded care to individuals.

We believe that individuals benefit from transparency, open communication, and a whole system that is greater than the sum of its parts.

We believe in honouring all clients as individuals with their own lived experiences, cultural norms, values, and belief systems.

We believe in creating a clinic that reflects our diverse world and offers the best healthcare services for everyone in it.

We believe in providing evidence-based care.

We believe that creating safety in our clinic means that our methods, interventions, and approaches must be grounded in research, knowledge, and innovation.

Our Commitment

We commit to living our values: Our values are the cornerstone of our culture and structures. We commit to enacting them every day.

We commit to continuous learning: The medical and social landscapes are continually changing. We commit to continuous learning to provide the best care we possibly can.

We commit to humility: We are human, and humanity comes with the possibility of making mistakes. We commit to listening to our community and clients, owning any mistakes, and collaborating to fix them.
