FAQs
You Ask. We Answer.

Yes! Several of our clinicians offer virtual sessions, including our physicians, dietitians, physiotherapists, and clinical counsellors. Please discuss with your individual clinician to see if virtual appointments are a good fit for you.

For allied health appointments (psychology, counselling, dietitian, pelvic floor physiotherapy, physiotherapy, massage therapy, and acupuncture), no referral is necessary. Feel free to call or use our online booking system for an appointment.

Medical appointments: For patients with family doctors, we kindly ask for you to have your doctor complete the following form. To book an appointment, please visit our medical services page.

At CAYA Health Centre, all women, trans and non-binary people are our priority, recognizing that these clients are typically underserved and face undue barriers to health care. However, everyone is welcome and no one will be turned away due to their gender identity. If you are in need of any of the gender-affirming, sex-positive, weight-neutral, and trauma-informed services that we offer – CAYA Health Centre is the right space for you.

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the clinician’s day that could have been filled by another client or patient. As such, we require at least 2 business days’ notice (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM) for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than the 48-hour notice, or miss their appointment, may be charged a cancellation fee of up to the full value of the appointment missed for allied health appointments (Psychologists, counsellors, dietitians, massage therapists, physiotherapists, and acupuncturists) and $60.00 for medical appointments.

Our service fees vary based on the type of treatment and practitioner. Please refer to the practitioner page here to see our fees.

We offer direct billing for most Extended Healthcare Benefits plans. Please check with your individual insurance provider for details and coverage. Look at our list of insurance providers here

All information that you disclose to your clinician within sessions is confidential and will not be revealed to anyone without your written consent. However, there are several exceptions, including:

  • If you are at serious and imminent risk of doing harm to yourself or to someone else;
  • If you share information that suggests that a child has been, is being, or is at risk of being harmed;
  • If you are unsafe to drive and persist in doing so after being made aware of concerns about your ability to drive safely;
  • If your records are subpoened by a court of law.

Please discuss with your individual clinician for more details.
