A Bit About Me
Dr. Vivian Berg is an Internal Medicine Specialist. She completed her medical degree, residency and fellowship in General Internal Medicine at the University of British Columbia with a focus on gender-affirming care and addiction medicine in her fellowship year.
At CAYA Health Centre, Dr. Berg provides gender-affirming care for clients across British Columbia. Her approach is patient-centred and trauma-informed, grounded in evidence-based practice and deep respect for each person’s lived experience. In addition to her work at CAYA, she practices Addiction Medicine at St. Paul’s Hospital and provides Internal Medicine and ICU care in communities across British Columbia. She also runs an outreach specialist clinic serving northern Tahltan communities, where she is committed to improving equitable access to care for remote Indigenous communities.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Berg is an avid reader who enjoys book discussions with clients and colleagues. She is currently learning Mandarin and spends her free time sewing, climbing and giving treats to her orange tabby cat.
